Privacy Policy

Pretty Good Labs, LLC does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information from users of its apps or this website.

Last updated August 30, 2026. This policy covers this website and V1 Bogey, the app we are preparing to publish.

What we collect

Nothing. V1 Bogey contains no analytics frameworks, no crash reporting services, no advertising software development kits, and no telemetry of any kind. We do not assign you an identifier, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we have no server that receives information about you.

Most of the app contains no networking code at all, which means the absence of collection is a property of how it is built rather than a promise about how we behave.

There is one partial exception worth stating plainly. V1 Bogey can sync its saved data through your own private iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. That data goes to Apple under your Apple ID, in a container we are not able to read. It does not reach a Pretty Good Labs server, because we do not operate one. You can turn that sync off in Settings, your Apple ID, iCloud.

Data that stays on your device

The app stores the things it needs in order to work, and all of it stays on your device under the operating system's own protection:

Deleting an app removes everything it stored on the device. If you used V1 Bogey with iCloud sync enabled, a copy also exists in your own iCloud account and deleting the app does not remove it. To delete that copy, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, and remove V1 Bogey's data.

Permissions and why they are requested

Location, AlwaysA false alarm is only a false alarm at a particular place, so matching one requires knowing where you are. Always access is required because the app has to keep working with the phone in a pocket and the screen off. The app tracks location only while it is connected to your detector, while it is on screen, and for five minutes after a disconnect. When your detector is off, it stops. Your position is compared against your own saved list on the device and is never sent to us.
BluetoothRequired to talk to your Valentine One. The app connects to the detector directly and to nothing else.

V1 Bogey asks for meaningful permissions, and it is worth being explicit about why: an app that mutes a radar detector at a specific corner cannot work without knowing when you are at that corner. If that trade is not one you want to make, the app is not much use without it.

This website

This site, including the experiments hosted on its subdomains, is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party trackers, and loads no external fonts or scripts. Experiments that keep a score or a state do so in your own browser and send it nowhere. Our hosting provider maintains standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, for the purpose of delivering the site and protecting it from abuse. We do not use those logs to build profiles of visitors.

Children

We collect no information from anyone, including children, so there is nothing about a child to disclose, delete, sell, or protect from misuse.

The app contains no sign-ups, accounts, messaging, user-generated content, advertising, in-app purchases, or third-party content of any kind. There is no mechanism in it through which a child could disclose anything, to us or to anybody else.

Third parties

We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have data to share. If you purchase an app through the App Store, Apple handles that transaction under Apple's own privacy policy, and Apple does not give us your identity or payment details.

Your rights

Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to access, correct, and delete personal data a company holds about you, and to know whether it is sold. We hold no personal data about you, we sell nothing, and we share nothing. You are welcome to submit a request to confirm that, and we will respond in writing.

If you have emailed us for support, we hold that email thread. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. If a future app ever needs to collect something in order to function, that will be stated explicitly on this page and in the app before any collection happens.
